Infant Massage-The Gift of Loving Touch
Touch is essential to human
life. It is the earliest developed function and the most important of all the
senses for overall development. It is food for the mind, body and spirit.
Why learn infant massage? As
parents, our time with our infants is brief and very precious. Learning
infant massage provides parents [and caregivers] the opportunity to learn how
to communicate and interact with their babies; to build a foundation for a
relationship of trust and love.
Infant Massage is a chance to nurture, a
chance to touch, a chance to awaken one's baby to the power of love. In
essence, it is loving touch to grow on.
Some of the benefits of massage for infants
and children include improved sleep patterns, relaxes and soothes the nervous
system, diminished anxiety and stress, better behavior, stimulates growth and
development in premature babies, improved respiration, circulation and
gastrointestinal functions; deepens bonding and attachment, and increases
confidence and empowers parents by enhancing their ability to understand their
baby's special needs.
Learning Infant Massage is easy and fun.
Having completed intensive training and
practical work specifically designed by the International Association of
Infant Massage (IAIM), Connie teaches infant massage to parents and caregivers
in either small group settings or one-on-one with parents to help meet the
needs of the fussy, colicky, or special needs baby.
